Welcome To Pet Au Pair
DREADED CALL FROM YOUR DOG WALKER “SORRY I HAVE LOST YOUR DOG!”
The importance of walking dogs in small groups.
You’re really worried that you might choose the wrong dog walker to look after your precious dog. Worried they may not provide a good standard of care. After all so many dog walkers have far too many dogs in their care. How can they possibly have full control? I totally understand these were all the thought I had when faced with looking for dog care.
You’re worried that your dog will be involved in a dog fight due to being part of a pack mentality, this was a big concern of mine. The main fear is “WHAT IF THEY LOST MY DOG?”
How can they possibly have so many dogs running around off lead? What if there were a situation where you need to quickly lead your dog? How can you lead 6 or more dogs in a short space of time? The truth is “you can’t!” This is why dogs get injured or lost, whist in the care of dog walkers.
This problem would not happen if some dog walkers were not so money driven and greedy, if they only had a controllable number of dogs, if they understood each dog’s personalities, can gather them together in a short space of time, in an emergency situation, such as aggressive behaviour shown from a stray nervous dog.
We all worry about the increase in dog theft. What if the dog walker is so busy with all the other dogs, they don’t notice your dog has wondered off, following a scent and about to be stolen!!
Sorry I don’t mean to scare you but these are things we all need to be thinking about when looking for a dog walker or even walking your own dog. You can enjoy your dog walk, however you must always be aware of where your dog is at all times.
This is why I am exclusive as I do not believe in walking no more than 4 dogs at any one time, this includes two of my own dogs.
This means I am only looking after 2 dogs who personalities I need to understand and train to come back to me on recall. In this situation I am not dominated by a pack, but seen as the pack leader, so in an emergency situation I have full control and most important, I am aware of where my dogs are at all times. I am not driven by money and greed but with a true natural love for dogs.
You will also be pleased to know I am fully insured and accredited member of the national association of pet sitters, CRB checked, trustworthy, reliable and flexible, and essentially I understand how important your furry family member mean to you. I know it would destroy me, if anything ever happened to one of my dogs, so this is why I promise to take great care of your baby.
You know that you are undoubtedly the most qualified person to take care of your dog but in your absence I do plan to be second best. Your dog in my care will be treated as if they were my own, so you can rest knowing your dog is loved and safe.
